Junior team defeated Brno Alligators

Our junior team played a game against Brno Alligators on Sunday 10th of October. Even though Brno showed a development compared to its previous games of this season, they were defeated by the young Panthers in a calm game with the result of 55:0.

Similarly as in our last game against Havirov Devils, the outcome of the game was decided in the very first quarter, when we scored 27 points. Starters took a break and the backups were sent on the field to show their qualities. For the first time in the season fans had a chance to see both 2nd and 3rd string QBs, who both showed a decent performance.

The first quarter was started by two 1-yard runs of FB Tomas Kocka, followed by a 15 yard pass from QB Stanislav Tomanek to WR Matej Vejtruba, who also scored the next touchdown in form of a beautiful 60 yard punt return. Late in the 2nd quarter, Matej concluded his performance by another TD reception in , this time from the 2nd QB Filip Subert.

The second half included touchdowns by RB Michal Zizka, WR Jakub Tomanek and also the 3rd string QB Ondrej Vlk for whom it meand the very first career TD. Due to the fact that kicker Jakub Wolesky converted 7 out of 8 point-after-tries, the score wasn't stopped until 55:0.

Special teams showed stable and reliable performance. The same applies for the defene which did not allow the opponent to get anywhere near our endzone. Moreover, FS Vasek Kriesman caught a very nice interception.

We will meet the Alligators once again in the last week of regular season, but right now all our attention looks into the upcoming weekend: We will face the so far unbeaten Lions. The math is pretty simple - if we win by eight points or more, we win the regular season and advance straight to the finals. If we don't, we will most probably play the semifinals against Lions or Havirov.

Scoring players - season totals
It is very positive that the team scoring is not an effort of two or three star players. So far you can find eleven names on the list (around one third of the whole team), which is a great promise into the future. In the last game, Kocka strengthened his lead, but there has been a change on the second place thanks to the hattrick of Vejtruba. The kicker Jakub Wolesky steadily collects point after point, which has brought him to the third overall place.
