Panthers won the season opener in Villach

Season opening game in Villach was successful for Panthers. Czech champion managed first game on Saturday 19th in Villach and defeated Carinthian Black Lions 36:6.

It wasn‘t easy start for the Panthers when the very first pass of the game was intercepted and Black Lions took advantage of good field position to score a TD. But this was the only bright moment for Black Lions in the game…

Later in 1st Q Veikka Lehtonen scored his first TD for Prague Panthers. Finnish RB added another one later in the 2nd Q. Despite the strong wind Panthers took advantage and increased the lead by Jan Štiegler’s TD and Gabor Sviatko’s field goal before half time…

Panthers didn’t slow down after half time and Jiří Urban set up the score to 30:6 . Later in the 4th Q also US QB Ryan McManus showed his performance when threw a 35yds TD pass to Jan Wajtr. Final score was 6:36 for Panthers.

Next AFL game will take place on Slavia Stadium in Prague, March 27. Panthers will host Raiffeisen Vikings.
