Panthers allowed no surprise in their semifinal game against Ostrava Steelers. On home field, defending Czech champion won the game 54:0 and will face the city rival Prague Black Hawks in finals.
Panthers started with #14 Stanislav Tomanek at QB and showed many backups on the field during the game. Tomanek opened the score with 5y run into the end zone in 1st q.
In 2nd q. RB#8 Jan Vrba scored a TD after 8y run and a minute before half time WR#88 Jan Wajtr added another one after 55y pass from #14 Stanislav Tomanek. PAT was blocked, so the score was 20:0 in half time…
Steelers arrived to Prague with very limited roster, so national team QB Alan Kosniovsky had to play on safety position too. It wasn’t a lucky choice for him. Kosniovsky was injured and that meant end of hopes for Ostrava team.
Later in the game RB#1 Jan Sykora found the end zone with 24y run. QB#14 Tomanek increased his rushing statistics with 6y run TD and #22 Jan Stiegler put another points on the board with 14y TD run…
In 4th q RB#1 Jan Sykora scored once again and with 5min left in the end of the game CB#21 Ladislav Jensik scored with 63y punt return.
Panthers won 54:0 and will face Prague Black Hawks in Kittfort Bowl on Friday 15th in Synnottip Arena . Game starts at 6pm.
