Not even the 3rd game in a row against top Austrian team had a happy ending for Panthers. Despite the improved performance, especially on defense, Raiders took 7:38 victory in 3rd round of AFL (Austrian football league).
We could see a lot of turnovers in first half of the game, when 3
of 5 interceptions were picked off by Panthers defense. Raiders
stepped up and scored 3 times in first half though.
Florian Grein opened the score with 9yd run in 1st Q. In 2nd Q.
Kyle Callahan found open Talib Wise for a TD and later on Florian
Grein found the end zone for a second time in the game after 17y
Callahan pass to set the score 0:21 in half time.
Raiders scored again in 2nd half, when Callahan himself reached the
end zone for a TD.
Panthers stroke before end of 3rd Q. when McManus found Martin
Sindler on 1yard line. In the very next play Veikka Lehtonen scored
first TD on home field this season, decreasing the margin to
7:28.
Callahan added another score in 4th Q. and the scoring ended by
Pascal Maier’s 18yd field goal.
Next weekend is the first round of CLAF (Czech league of American
Football) and Panthers will play in Brno.
Goal for AFL remains play off’s.
