Season 2011 – interview

12.11.2010 Interview with a Prague Pathers president David Krejbich

We put several questions to David Krejbich, president of Prague Panthers about the upcoming season 2011.

David, in which competitions will we see Prague Panthers in 2011?

We do everything we can to be able to participate in same competitions as last year, that means EFL, AFL and of course CLAF.

Do we already know something about our competitors in EFL?

We already know our schedule… We will face the Danube Dragons (2010 AFL Champions) in base group. If we can win, we will meet up with Berlin Adler (defending EFL Champions) in quarterfinals. It won’t be easy, but we played a close game with Berlin last year and lost due to our own mistakes. I believe that changes in the team will help to improve our performance and we’ll play better football.

And what about Austrian league AFL?

We would like to continue in what we started last year. Last season we finished on 5th place and to be honest, we thought about better standings... So, we definitely want to show better performance.. We don’t know exact schedule yet, but we’ll play against same opponents as last season, but the locations are swapped. It means that fans can look forward to see Vienna Vikings, Innsbruck Raiders and Salzburg Bulls in Prague…

And finally Czech league (CLAF)?

We consider CLAF as important as other competitions! However its level is lower comparing to AFL, so we want to use CLAF to prepare our backups and young players. It means that team will be set up of back ups and juniors who want to fight up their way to senior A team…
